J'ai été élève de l'école-atelier Rudra Béjart de l'année 2010 jusqu'à la mi saison 2013 où j'ai eu la chance, non seulement pour poursuivre mes études artistiques et ma croissance vers l'évolution et la découverte de mon art personnel (dont l'école fournit en grande partie l'espace pour que cela se produise), mais j'ai également été guidé vers la découverte de soi et le positionnement dans la société d'aujourd'hui, grâce à la des valeurs importantes enseignées à l'école, telles que le respect de l'autre, le dévouement au travail et l'amitié.
L'équipe d'enseignants guidés par le regard artistique de Michel Gascard sont indispensables à la progression constante des élèves de toutes les générations.
Enseigner les croyances de la mentalité et des méthodes Béjart ainsi que donner la possibilité à chacun de collecter la vaste gamme d'informations et de se l'approprier.
Je n'aurais jamais eu la chance d'être là où j'en suis actuellement dans ma vie et ma carrière si Michel Gascard ne m'avait pas aidé en m'offrant une bourse qui m'a permis de vivre à Lausanne en raison de la faible situation financière de ma famille. Ainsi que pour la généreuse opportunité donnée de redoubler ma deuxième année académique suite à une opération chirurgicale rencontrée lors de mon parcours scolaire.
Je ne peux pas penser à une meilleure personne pour garder l'esprit Maurice Béjart vivant que Michel Gascard.
I have been a student of the école-atelier Rudra Béjart,
from the year 2010 until mid season of 2013 where I had the chance, not only to pursue my artistic studies and growth towards the evolution and discovery of my personal artistry (which the school largely provide the space for that to happen) but I also got guided in to the self discovery and positioning inside nowadays society, thanks to the important values taught in the school, such as respect for one another, dedication for work and friendship.
The team of teachers guided by the artistic view of Michel Gascard are essential for the constant progression of students of every generation.
Teaching the beliefs of the Béjart mentality and methods as well as giving the opportunity to each individual to collect the vast range of informations and make it they’re own.
I would have never had the chance to be where I am right now in life and career if Michel Gascard would have not helped by giving me a scholarship that allowed me to live in Lausanne due to the low financial state of my family. As well as for the generous opportunity given of repeating my second academical year due to surgical operation encountered during my scholastic journey.
I can’t think of a better person to keep Maurice Béjart spirit alive than Michel Gascard.

Michel fait revivre Maurice tous les matins et se couche tard tous les soirs en pensant à comment il peut faire des ses élèves des meilleurs être humains. La pédagogie à Rudra vise à rendre nos esprits plus vifs et plus attentifs à notre propre intériorité et au monde qui nous entoure afin d'y combattre les injustices, la corruption et les abus qui malheureusement sont toujours d'actualité dans beaucoup de compagnies de danse.

Michel revives Maurice every morning and stays up late every night thinking about how he can make his students better human beings. Rudra's pedagogy aims to make our minds sharper and more attentive to our own interiority and to the world around us, in order to combat the injustices, corruption and abuses that unfortunately still prevail in many dance companies.
I thank him for helping me to find the keys within myself to a bigger, more honest world.

Rudra était ma première grande station entre la vie d’enfant et la vie d’adulte et je serai toujours reconnaissante d’être acceptée dans cette grande maison d’art qui nous sculptait avec tant de délicatesse, et avec grande rigueur et respect pour nos âmes et nos corps et qui nous guidait précieusement vers nos divers chemins artistiques. Et je n’aurai jamais suffisamment de mots pour décrire la dimension et l’impact constructifs, bénéfiques et créateurs que la formation qui nous a été offerte à l’Ecole Atelier Rudra a eus pour moi, ni pour décrire le rôle qu’elle a joué dans ma vie de danseuse, d’artiste, de femme et de l’être humain que je suis aujourd’hui.
En tant qu’adulte et moi-même une pédagogue aujourd’hui je sais que Michel avait une quelque chose d’unique: il croyait en nous, il cherchait à nous armer de confiance, à nous apprendre à travailler profondément pour ce que nous voulions atteindre. Je suis aujourd’hui certaine que Michel avait planté en nous cette petite graine de créateur de danse, cette petite graine qui fait la différence. Il nous a profondément et irréversiblement aidés à chercher en nous mêmes la capacité de devenir chacun de nous meilleur en soi. Et mis-à part notre capacité de devenir un danseur de très haute qualité, il nous a finalement mené à être créateur de nos vies. Á ne jamais laisser tomber même dans les périodes les plus critiques. Á ne jamais être soumis à quoi qu’il soit. Il a tonifié la notion de valeur en soi en nous. Et ça n’est pas une qualité qu’un directeur d’école ou un professeur peut apprendre. C’est une qualité en soi que Michel a en soi. C’est une qualité de bienveillance humaine profonde.
Rudra was my first great station between childhood and adulthood, and I'll always be grateful to be accepted into this great house of art, which sculpted us with such delicacy, and with great rigor and respect for our souls and bodies, and guided us carefully along our various artistic paths. And I'll never have enough words to describe the constructive, beneficial and creative dimension and impact that the training offered to us at the Atelier Rudra School has had on me, nor to describe the role it has played in my life as a dancer, an artist, a woman and the human being I am today.
As an adult and a teacher myself today, I know that Michel had something unique: he believed in us, he sought to arm us with confidence, to teach us to work deeply for what we wanted to achieve. I'm certain today that Michel planted in us that little seed of dance creation, that little seed that makes all the difference. He profoundly and irreversibly helped us to find within ourselves the capacity to become the best we can be. And apart from our ability to become top-quality dancers, it ultimately led us to be the creators of our own lives. To never give up, even in the most critical times. To never be submissive to anything. It has invigorated the notion of self-worth within us. And that's not a quality a school principal or teacher can teach. It's a quality that Michel has in himself. It's a quality of profound human benevolence.

Ma rencontre avec Michel Gascard remonte à plusieurs années en arrière mais je m’en souviens comme si c’était hier.
Je rentre à Rudra à 16 ans et je débarque dans un monde à la fois terriblement difficile et merveilleux.
Michel Gascard fut mon directeur mais aussi mon professeur et répétiteur, je pense que les mots n’existent pas pour exprimer ma gratitude envers lui pour tout ce qu’il m’a apporté, appris, transmis.
Cet homme est un passionné, l’amour de la danse et de l’humain coule dans ses veines. Son respect envers ses élèves et Maurice Béjart est immense.
Merci Michel Gascard pour la qualité de ton enseignement, ton exigence indispensable à ce métier, pour ton comportement irréprochable ce qui est très rare dans ce milieu et une fois de plus pour ton amour de la danse.
My encounter with Michel Gascard goes back many years, but I remember it like it was yesterday.
I entered Rudra at the age of 16 and found myself in a world that was both terribly difficult and wonderful.
Michel Gascard was not only my director, but also my teacher and coach, and I don't think I have the words to express my gratitude to him for everything he gave me, taught me and passed on to me.
He was a passionate man, with a love of dance and people running through his veins. His respect for his students and Maurice Béjart is immense.

Pendant les deux années passées à Lausanne, à l'âge initial de 16 ans, j'ai découvert et appris le métier d'artiste. Un métier difficile où la force, le courage, le travail sont indispensables, je le constate toujours aujourd'hui. Michel et Valérie m'ont apporté une aide indispensable pour trouver mon propre chemin dans cette vie qui m'attendait. Je me souviens de leur passion pour la transmission, de leur pédagogie sans faille, de leurs yeux pétillants d'énergie à chaque nouveau projet que nous commencions.
C'était en somme comme deux anges gardiens qui m'ont portée pendant deux années de ma vie, certainement les plus difficiles puisque décisives pour la future danseuse que je voulais être.
Je me souviens encore du regard souriant et plein d'amour de Maurice Béjart assis à côté de Michel pendant les répétitions du répertoire que Michel nous transmettait avec rigueur, précision et passion.
Quand je suis revenue à Rudra et que Maurice n'était plus là, j'ai senti que l'énergie débordante à faire vivre l'école tel qu'il l'avait souhaité était toujours là. J'ai constaté avec joie que Rudra continuait à vibrer, que Michel et Valérie avaient réussi à maintenir l'école comme Maurice l'avait pensée, à garder en vie avec amour et bienveillance cette école unique qu'il aimait tant.
Jamais je n'oublierai ce qu'ils ont fait pour leurs élèves.
During the two years I spent in Lausanne, at the initial age of 16, I discovered and learned the artist's craft. It's a difficult profession, one that requires strength, courage and hard work, as I still see today. Michel and Valérie were indispensable in helping me find my own way in the life that awaited me. I remember their passion for teaching, their unfailing pedagogy, their eyes sparkling with energy at every new project we started.
In short, they were like two guardian angels who carried me through two years of my life, certainly the most difficult since they were decisive for the future dancer I wanted to be.
I still remember Maurice Béjart's smiling, loving gaze as he sat next to Michel during rehearsals of the repertoire Michel taught us with rigor, precision and passion.
When I returned to Rudra and Maurice was no longer there, I felt that the boundless energy to bring the school to life as he had wished was still there. I was delighted to see that Rudra was still throbbing, that Michel and Valérie had succeeded in keeping the school as Maurice had imagined it, in keeping alive with love and kindness this unique school he loved so much.
I'll never forget what they did for their students.

J'ai toujours vu les élèves admirer le comportement solide et poétique de leur directeur Michel Gascard.
Il est un exemple pour les étudiants et aussi pour moi.
Sa détermination dans le sens de la recherche de la Beauté est sans pareil. J'ai encore en moi l'image émouvante de tous les étudiants en larmes pour l'énorme succès obtenu au Festival dei 2 Mondi di Spoleto (Italie) en 2019, l'un des festivals les plus importants jamais réalisés.

J'ai souvent assisté aux cours du maitre Michel Gascard et pour moi ce sont des leçons qui, en plus de la rigueur et des difficultés nécessaires pour apprendre l'art terpsichorien, ont toujours eu lieu dans un climat d'engagement profond et de stimulation pour les jeunes danseurs, où le maître Gascard projetait avec l'énergie nécessaire les règles, les valeurs, les passages raffinés et exigeants d'un art fait de choix forts, d'engagement psycho-physique extraordinaire, de volonté, d'humilité, discipline et nécessité profonde ...
Grâce à l'intuition du maitre Béjart et à l'engagement et enthousiasme du directeur Gascard, le Rudra Béjart est devenu un lieu de développement artistique et humaniste au niveau planétaire.
J'ai beaucoup appris du directeur Gascard. J'ai vu en lui un guide profond pour les étudiants et une honnêteté dans le travail de la beauté à tempérament.
Il a toujours invité ses élèves à rivaliser non pas avec d'autres camarades de classe, mais avec eux-mêmes.

His determination in the pursuit of Beauty is second to none. I still have in my mind the moving image of all the students in tears over the enormous success achieved at the Festival dei 2 Mondi di Spoleto (Italy) in 2019, one of the most important festivals ever staged.
On this occasion, in July 2019, the young students danced a refined work on the myth of Rodolfo Valentino, choreographed and written by Valérie Lacaze, an excellent artist and teacher who with this work gave the young dancers an international experience in the ancient Roman Theater of Spoleto.
